Hi, I’m Marla.
I am an illustrator, maker, and quiet observer of the beautiful, strange, and poetic in everyday life.
I work across a few different mediums, but at the heart of everything I create is a love for storytelling through detail, whether it's with the delicate stitches of stumpwork embroidery, the expressive lines of digital illustration, or the soft unpredictability of watercolour.
My art practice is a blend of intentional craft and playful exploration. Some days I’m hand-stitching three-dimensional embroidered flowers that almost leap off the
fabric; on others, I’m designing seamless patterns or painting loose sketches as part of my creative growth. I also take great joy in creating custom pieces that bring someone else’s vision to life, whether it’s a bespoke portrait or a personalised embroidered artwork.
Originally from Brazil, I’m now based in the UK, creating from my home studio with a cup of coffee always nearby. This site is where I share what I make, what I’m learning, and how I’m growing as an artist. Thank you for being here. I’m so glad you found your way to my little corner of the internet.
